We want you – send us your photos for a chance to be on our website!

Do you have a great photo of a tree planting event, or urban forestry landscape? We’re sprucing up our website and would love to include a few stellar images from your collection. Please send it to us by next Tuesday, February 22, 2011 and we’ll choose a few gems to be the new face of urban forestry (just hit “reply” to this message)!

2. Survey says - your input on urban forestry

California ReLeaf is conducting a survey on local/regional, state, and national education, research, advocacy, and other efforts in urban forestry. We’re forwarding this to you so that your input will help determine where gaps or overlap might occur and how to enhance efforts for better policy and funding opportunities in the future.

Please take a few minutes to participate and strengthen the next steps in urban forestry policy!

4.  California Sustainability Indicators Symposium

Sustainability is possible if we invest in measuring our impacts and the effectiveness of our solutions. The Symposium will bring together experts on indicators and Report Cards for community and environmental well-being to initiate statewide discussion of a Sustainability Report Card. Different regions, counties, and cities around the state have experimented with ways of reporting beach, mountain, water quality, health, and other conditions to educate the public and improve decision-making. Learn what is going in California with Report Cards and lend your own ideas and expertise to the discussion.
